He was named the All-WCC Player of the Year honor, alongside being a finalist for the Naismith Trophy, Oscar Robertson Trophy and the Wooden Award. WVU target names top schools, commitment date

By Chris Jackson               Sports Editor West Virginia linebacker target Brian Asamoah announced his commitment date and top schools early Friday morning. Asamoah, a class of 2018 linebacker from St. Francis De Sales (Columbus, Ohio), said via Twitter that his commitment date is tentatively scheduled for April 21. His top six schools are Cincinnati, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, UCLA and West Virginia. 247 Sports rates Asamoah as a three-star prospect and as the nation’s No. 45 outside linebacker. WVU adds Florida prospect to 2017 class

By Chris Jackson              Sports Editor West Virginia added its second commitment of the evening from defensive tackle Lamonte McDougle. McDougle, a class of 2017 prospect from Deerfield Beach High School (FL), picked WVU over Florida International and Purdue, among others. Rivals.com rates McDougle as a three-star recruit and the nation’s No. 46 defensive tackle.
