West Virginia will be without starting running back Rushel Shell for tonight’s game against Kansas, confirmed by head coach Dana Holgorsen on the pre-game show.
Shell, who suffered an ankle injury during last Saturday’s loss at Oklahoma State, was questionable entering the week. Now that he’s officially out tonight, it leaves Justin Crawford and Kennedy McKoy to handle the load in the backfield.
The duo combined for 163 rushing yards on 23 carries against Oklahoma State. Crawford is up to 458 yards and three touchdowns this season while McKoy has netted 259 yards on the ground, averaging 10.4 yards per carry.
Kansas enters with the nation’s No. 103 rush defense, allowing 209.8 yards per game.
